New Uniqlo Pick Ups
I've been in New York since Thursday. So I've basically been going around the city exploring. Today I passed Uniqlo in SoHo and I decide to see what they had, not knowing i was going to find a treasure. They were having the regular fourth of July sale, like every other store, but most importantly they were having their own promotional sale as well. And let me tell you, these were great deals. They had, from wall to wall, graphic tees from $7-$12. Oh and you know I had to get some. I've been looking for some nice graphic tees, but I refused to pay $25+ on a shirt with a few words on them. What i love about these shirts would have to be the fact that they all have a meaning behind them. From amazing artists' works of art to a great message from Pharrell reminding us to always be ourself. So I hope you all get a chance to check out these tees. They are a must have and I already have tons of outfit ideas in my mind.

Today I found this amazingly fabulous jean jacket in Gap for $20 dollars! This jacket was originally $90. How could I leave this in the store? I'm in love and cannot wait to rock it!

What's the T?: Jamal & Douglas
I had the opportunity to interview these two amazing gentlemen, Jamal Bull and Douglas Henry, who I know are going to have a huge influence on fashion culture someday. They attend the same university as me and are always styled exceptionally well. I thought it would be a good idea to dive deeper into the minds of these two fashion gurus.
(Douglas, left and Jamal, right)
C: Let's begin with what's your age and where are you from?
J: 18 & Sante, NC
D: 19 & Raleigh, NC
C: We hear people all the time say I knew this was for me at so and so age. When did you know fashion was
going to be your passion?
going to be your passion?
J: I can say I have always had an interest, but with age it grew stronger. Maybe when I started shopping on my own, in middle school, is when I started to pay attention to what I liked.
D: I would have to say, not until middle school because elementary school was a rough stage for me. It was around middle school when peer pressure started to make me actually care about what I was wearing. I actually started to make such a change in my wardrobe that even my dad began to say "Who are you trying to impress?"
C: I know for me I never know what I'm going to wear when I wake up, I just get the idea when I check the weather and open my closet. So what would you say inspires your style on an everyday basis?
J: It depends how I feel in the morning after a shower. I usually check the weather too. I also keep in mind what are my plans for the day, whether it be formal or casual. And some days I try to go against the grain with my clothing.
D: Three things play into how I get dress: how I feel about himself, how I want to feel about myself, and how I want other to feel about me. I like to tell a story with my fashion each day.
C: We all know Rihanna just received the Fashion Icon award at the CFDA Fashion Awards. Who would you say is your style icon and why?
J: Hmmm, I would have to say Rihanna & Pharrell, but honestly anyone that catches my eye at the moment.
D: I wouldn't say a particular person because one day I could love their outfit and then the next day they're not doing it for me. So would say, no style icon for me, but my biggest inspiration would have to be New York, the Soho area.
C: If you could only wear one accessory for the rest of your life, what would it be?
J: A bracelet I just recently bought. I like it and everyone else seem to be liking it as well.
D: My grandfather's watch that I received after he passed away.
C: Who is your favorite designer at this moment?
J: Jeremy Scott. I'm loving is Moschino collection.
D: Olivier Rousteing. I love how he is reinventing the Balmain brand.
C: Where do you love to shop? Staple stores?
J: I would say H&M for basics because their products are of good quality. And Asos would have to be my other choice if I'm looking to add something fresh and new to my closet.
D: The thrift stores in Greensboro are my go to stores at the moment.
C: What are your next goals or plans?
J:
J:
- Getting my closet to the point where I have all the fashion basics. So that when I shop I can buy "add ons" that will enhance my choice of clothing
- Get an internship in New York that has something to do with my career/passion
- Establish myself at school and display more of what I can bring/offer to people
D:
- Rebuilding my wardrobe from scratch
- Starting my own blog
- Going to New York again to see what they're wearing
♥Feel free to follow them on Instagram @douglasshenry & @jaybullied ♥

Keith Haring for Forever 21
While browsing the internet for great Memorial Day sales I came across Forever 21' s mix up with Keith Haring and Jean- Michel Basquiat! Immediately I got excited! It wasn't in the sale section, but I had to get something. I was originally going to get a Basquiat and Haring shirt, but I wasn't really feeling the Basquiat shirts. I didn't feel like they did him justice. I know, I know. They were his own designs, but I simply wasn't feeling it. So I just went ahead and got a Keith Haring shirt which I'm pretty obsessed with!
It's perfect! I'm all about the whole "cross your fingers for me" saying. So this was basically me on a shirt. I'll definitely be styling this shirt! Look out for an outfit of the day coming soon.

Billboard Music Awards: Black and White
It's all about the black and white for me this year at the BMA. I was actually really disappointed with some of the looks I saw on the red carpet last night, but there were a few that gave me so much life! Let's begin!
Nicki Minaj
First off let me start by saying I love Nicki Minaj's new and fresh look. Her natural beauty outweighs those crazy costumes she use to rock. Now to this dress. This sleek, cutout dress fits Nicki's new stye perfectly. The under-boob she's showing is the perfect splash of sass that Nicki embodies. Nicki definitely did this award show the right way!
What she's wearing...
Alexander McQueen

Kendall Jenner
I've always loved Olcay Gulsen's shoes, but now I'm absolutely in love with his designs. Kendall is wearing this jumper perfectly. I initially thought this was a two piece outfit, but I actually like it as one piece because I figure there is less shifting of the pieces. It stays in place all night, if that makes any sense. But ultimately she looks gorgeous, like always and this outfit gives me just the right amount of glam I need.

Chrissy Teigen
Hello there Mrs. Legend. I must say this garment is lovely darling. But seriously I really like this statement dress. Its catches your eye, but doesn't make you want to look away because it's too much. This is also a perfect display of how to rock gold and silver. The silver embellishments and gold jewelry and shoe details do not clash at all. I also appreciate the fact that she didn't pair this look with too much jewelry. She knows the dress speaks volumes for itself. Good choice Chrissy!
What she's wearing...
Fyodor Golan
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly Rowland
Last but definitely not least, actually my absolute favorite! Yes Kelly! She looks so flawless. This two piece ensemble fits her body perfectly. I usually hate slits in dresses or skirts, but I'm living for these. I also like how she decided to go with statement bracelets and earrings and left the necklaces at HOME! The cut of that crop top/bralet is so sexy. Not too much cleavage, but just the right amount of skin. Can I have this outfit?
What she's wearing...
Well about that...I can't seem to find who the designer is anywhere. If you do, please let me know :(

You Gotta Werk It Out Girl
Recently I've started working out. I figured since I don't have much to do the first three weeks of break, I should get in shape. I've been complaining about getting into better shape and toning my body and honestly I got tired of talking about it and went ahead and started to do something about it. So here I am, three days into my workout routine and I feel great despite the soreness. I feel so accomplished after I finish a work out. I have been using the Nike Training App (shout to Ariel for putting me on). It is so helpful. It gives me some direction on where to begin so I'm not completely lost. Any who...after working out today, I was inspired to do a fitness gear post. So here are a few things I use and their features I love and things I'm looking forward to trying out! Hope you enjoy! Get fit and commit!

Headwear
Adidas Adizero 2
❊Ventilated Climacool keeps you cool and dry
❊Moisture wick headband
I prefer black because well, duh it goes with everything!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sports Bras

Champion
❊Great support
❊Fun designs
❊Price
I usually only go for low and medium support because my bust is pretty small, but obviously if you're more busty you should shoot for high support so that you're more comfortable while you work out. And to elaborate on price, some bras can be extremely pricey and these run from $7.99 to $16.99 which is perfect for such great quality.

Shorts & Leggings
Urban Outfitters
(From left to right): Seea Calafia Legging, C&C California Sport Exceed Bike Short,
Purusha People Sea Of Cortez Legging
❊Design
❊Multi-purpose
So I'm gonna give you two options here, when it comes to bottoms. I had to show you what UO had to offer even though it's pricey. Their legging and short options are super-duper CUTE! I don't own a pair yet because for a college student it's an investment, but it's okay to dream right? I'll get a pair or two eventually. They can be suitable for running, dancing, or everyday wear. I honestly am just a sucker for a cute design. Check it out!

Champion
(From left to right): Champion Double Dry® Absolute Workout Fitted Women's Knee Tights, Champion Double Dry® Absolute Workout Fitted 4'' Women's Shorts, Champion PowerTrain Absolute Workout Space Dye Women's Fitted Tights
❊Fit
❊Color
❊Sizes
These Champion athletic bottoms are comfortable and perfect for high activity workouts. I love them. They too are multi-purpose...well that is for me. They're perfect for working out of course, but running errands around town as well. I like that they come in several different colors and sizes so everyone can get a pair. Oh and not to mention they are priced just right for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoes
Nike 4.0 V2
❊Support
❊Flexibility
❊Colors
❊Quality
You can customize your own workout shoes on Nike so they work perfectly for you and I love these because of all the color options.
NEW BALANCE 813V2
❊Quality
❊Cost
❊Colors
❊Support
I have a pair of New Balance and honestly when I first got them I was like 15 and hated them because they weren't Nike, but look how times change. Everybody and their momma wants a pair of New Balances. Even though they're the more casual everyday style, they're still New Balance. Look at me swaggin' before the hype, lol. But no seriously these are extremely comfortable and most definitely will get the job done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And last but not least, I don't believe in buying workout shirts when you can just get an old t-shirt from one of you drawers. Go ahead and cut it up. You're just going to sweat in it and put it right in the dirty clothes hamper. But if you really want to buy workout shirts, check out the stores and brands mentioned above.
OH...
And if you're not into hats, headbands are a wonderful alternative. You can find athletic ones right in Target.

This concludes my fitness gear rant! I hope this helped. Now go out there and get fit and commit!
